Then, leave “civilization” and travel up along the Skeleton Coast to Twfelfontein to visit the Bushman engravings and the opportunity to see the elusive Desert Elephants. In Etosha, see the famous wildlife rhino, elephant, lion, giraffe, etc. Then another highlight visit a clinic situated in the Kalahari Desert in the middle of nowhere – Bushmenland! See how the doctors do daily battle with the most basic of facilities and medicines at their disposal from family planning, education on HIV/AIDs and the everyday illness. End the tour in Windhoek, a modern city with diverse attractions. Stay in a lodge frequented by the Jolie-Pitt family who has established a trust fund for the wildlife center and the Bushman clinic.

Depart the U.S. on the flight of your choice.

Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako airport, you will be met and transferred to your lodge situated a few kilometers east of the town.  The area is a natural savannah paradise with riverine vegetation, lush grass plains and magnificent mountain views.  The balance of the day is at leisure to adjust to the time difference. D

After breakfast, transfer to Windhoek (about 45 minutes) to visit a small Medical Center in the heart of the city.  You will be given a tour of the facilities by Dr. Andreas Baumann. The center offers GP care and children’s vaccinations it also houses a child physiologist/therapist and pharmacy. Then, enjoy a light lunch before continuing to Eros Airport (15minute drive) to meet up with your pilot guide and transfer to the lodge situated in the Namib Rand Nature Reserve. Here you will be introduced to and shown the hidden treasures of Namibia from a conservation side. BLD

Enjoy the day to explore this beautiful area with your guide who has actively worked in this field for the past 18 plus years sharing his experience and knowledge and showing you the many surprises of the desert. BLD

Depart at sunrise for a short flight over the sea of dunes to Sesriem where you will board your 4x4 vehicle to the heart of Sossusviel and the highest dunes in the world.  The immense rich ochre sand dunes-one of the most wondrous sights in the world, rises to an astonishing 300meters. The Sossusviel, Namibia’s famous highlight in the heart of the Namib Desert, is a huge clay pan, enclosed by giant sand dunes.   Return to Sesriem around lunch time for time to refresh and enjoy lunch before departing on a scenic flight over Sossusviel, along the coast, over the old diamond camps, shipwrecks and on to Walvis Bay before landing in Swakopmund.  Balance of the afternoon at leisure to explore the town on foot before meeting for dinner at a local restaurant.  BLD

After breakfast, a short transfer to Walvis Bay from where we depart by ski boat on a dolphin and seal cruise. Join in the fun of seals being handled and dolphins frolicking in the waves. Pelicans fly right alongside to ensure they don’t miss their opportunity for a pilchard meal!  Travel out of the harbor to the guinneo platforms and learn about Namibia’s secret of making money from “bird poop”!  Return to the calm waters of the lagoon and enjoy some fresh oysters, snacks and sparkling wine.  Transfer to the airport and fly over Cape Cross Seal Colony, along the Skeleton Coast to Mowani Lodge.  This afternoon enjoy a sundowner drive. After a leisurely breakfast, return to the airfield for a scenic flight over the Etosha Pan, before landing at Mokuti where you will transfer to your lodge situated close by. Etosha, meaning “Great White Place” is dominated by a massive mineral pan, part of the Kahlahari Basin, the floor of which was formed around 1000 million years ago. After lunch, depart on a game drive or enjoy a leisure afternoon at the pool. BLD

Your pilot-guide has studied and worked for 20 plus years in conservation in Namibia and has intimate knowledge of this area and its intricate fauna and flora. Etosha National Park is one of Southern Africa’s finest and most important Game Reserves.  Game viewing here is excellent expect to see many buck species, lions, Black & White Rhino, elephants and the occasional leopard and cheetah.  BLD

Depart early to a special place called Epikiru which is situated in the heart of the Bushmen Conservancy of Tsumkwe.  Most maps don’t even show us this little but very special place.  Here we visit the local Bushmen Clinic, totally funded by N’aankuse Lodge and their volunteers.  This clinic offers essential and very much needed medical care to those that is far from everything not just in education, but also in pure remoteness from any type of civilization.  Upon arrival, a short transfer to the clinic where you will get a tour of the facilities and some insight into the daily struggles of the Bushmen families.  The local resident doctor will be on hand to give an in-depth explanation and answer any queries you might have.  Enjoy some refreshments, then depart back to Windhoek where you will say goodbye to your pilot-guide.  Spend the afternoon at leisure for last minute shopping in the capital city.  B
